MusAfrica Namur invites you to explore the historical, cultural and human links that unite Belgium and Central Africa. In a fully redesigned museum, you will discover a unique collection, modern museography and spaces for dialogue that will allow you to question your representations and better understand this shared history.

Located in the heart of Namur, MusAfrica is part of a dynamic cultural centre and is meant for everyone, from the curious to the enthusiastic. Supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, researchers and professionals, it is a lively place where memories, creativity and reflection meet.

An extraordinary
library

In addition to its collection of artefacts, MusAfrica Namur also has an extensive library (approximately 25,000 works), a large part coming from the Société d'Études Coloniales and mainly dating from the end of the XIXth century and the first half of the XXth century.

What access is available for people with reduced mobility?

Yes, the museum is 100% accessible topeople with reduced mobility. A lift provides access to all levels and thecirculation areas are wide.

What are the opening hours?

Is the museum suitable for English and Dutch speakers?

The first level of text on the information panels is in three languages (French, Dutch and English). The descriptions are in French only. In the future, a QR code will provide all explanations in three languages.

Is it possible to have something to eat
or to drink?

Unfortunately, the museum does not have a restaurant or cafeteria. However, there are many restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.

How do I get to the museum?

The museum is located at a 10-minute walk from the station. Many bus lines pass in front of the museum (stop: Rue du Premier Lanciers): 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 40, 65.
